Facebook is no more seen as just a social networking site for connecting with friends. But, it can help you drive traffic to your blog very easily.
You can use Facebook in many ways to drive traffic. And, you may be amazed but I want to tell that Facebook drives the maximum traffic to blogs. This is a personal experience, I used to promote my blogs on Facebook Groups, Fan Pages and sometimes on my Profile also. Though, promoting on profile can be really very irritating for your friends! Sharing a piece of information with people interested in it is very much beneficial for a Blogger.

I mostly share my Blog Posts in various Groups because there are many groups already made on Facebook with thousands of Facebook Users in it. That will drive maximum traffic to your blog. People who will be interested in your content, will share your content or view it multiple times. So you need to target the audience wisely! Targeting the right audience helps in increasing your visitors and will create more followers. If your blog has great content, your blog will have a lot of followers as well as loyal visitors.
I would prefer promoting in Groups! But, if you're having a Fan Page with lots of Likes and honest followers, then it is advisable to share your content on your Facebook Fan Page. But, still you can share content in Groups also.
Also, don't share your blog posts on your Facebook profile, otherwise your friends will be irritated and may unfriend you! :P That may make your blog successful but it will ruin your social life.
